3 Projects Completed :o)

YIPEEE I got three projects done this week...so excited. I had been working on the Bell Hat, Sophie Bag and Brangelina Hat and I got them all done. I love how they all come out. I felted the Bell Hat and Sophie Bag last night and they are still in the process of drying but they look realy cute. I forgot to take a picture of my Brangelina but I'll do that tonight and post it. The Bell Hat also has a flower on it which I still need to knit and felt but that won't take very long.

Currently working on:

I have started another bag from my One Skein book. I've been working slowly on that one though. It's going to require lots of color changes because it's striped.

I am also making a little hat for my friend Brandy's baby. I am a pattern from the Knit One, Felt Too book by Kathleen Taylor. It's also going to be felted and should look like this:

That's it for now. Happy Knittin!

Sophie Bag - 95% Done

I am almost done wtih the Sophie Bag, it was a super easy pattern and I enjoyed doing it BUT I've now come to the handles and I have no idea what to do :o( I'm gonna have to go into the knitting store one of these nights and have them help me. The handles are I-Cord and I've figured out how to do it but the pattern doesn't make sense unless I'm just not getting it. Amy was over for dinner last night and she wasn't quite sure of it either so I'll have to turn to the professionals. I love how the colors came out though and I can't wait to finish it and felt it. I used a brown and rose color and it looks great.

Until I figure out what I need to do to finish my Sophie Bag I am working on a K2P2 Ribbed Hat for Rocky for when we go to New York. I'm using Annie Blat Alpaca, it's very very soft. We had a seen one at Bloomingdales that Rocky liked but we can make one just as nice and not $100..haa, haa..so take that Bloomie's. I've also started another felted bag from my One Skein book. I am going to use black, grey and pink and do a stripe pattern like in the book.

Stay tuned for more pics.

Happy Knitting!

Finished Clutch

I still need to sew on the buttons but it's complete :o) my first felted bag. I just finished knitting the Bell Hat and just need to felt it. Last night we had a few of the girls over for knitting and managed to be productive. Lately we meet but all we do is eat and drink wine and barely have time for knitting. Last night we knitted for 2 hours. I started the Sophie Bag. I'll post pictures up soon of the Bell Hat and Sophie Bag in progress......Happy Knitting!

Felted Clutch Bag

Update 8/4/06
WOOOHOO we are done knitting the clutch. I can't believe how quick that was. We just have to felt it and then sew the buttons on it. Stay tuned for pics.

I am super excited because last night I started knitting my first bag which is going to be felted. For my bday I got the One Skein book and they have a really cute clutch bag in it. I am using Lamb's Pride Yarn (blended of 85% soft wool and 15% mohair) in the Orchaid Thistle color.

I have a feeling this little bag is going to be done in maybe a day or two since we are using size 15 needles. I can't wait to finish it. I'll post a pic when I'm done.

My BF Knits

My boyfriend knits and I think it's cute. Last year Rocky and I went to Mendocino for a weekend getaway. We stayed at a Bed & Breakfast and it had no tv, no phones, no computer, it had nothing it was a place for relaxing. Rocky draws so he brought his drawing stuff and I brought my knitting and some books at one point he got tired of reading/drawing and he decided to watch me knit and after about 10 minutes of watching he asked me if he could try it. He did and caught on pretty fast. I think he managed to knit about 10 rows before he finally stopped. Tonight we are going to the Giants game for Stitch-n-Pitch night. Yes, the Giants are having a knitting night.

Stitch n' Pitch NightThursday, July 20 - Your SF Giants invite you to the first annual Stitch n' Pitch night at AT&T Park. Bring your projects to the game and meet other knitters all while enjoying Giants baseball. Specially priced tickets for Stitch n' Pitch include your ticket to the game and your own Giants Stitch n' Pitch tote bag to carry around all your supplies.

Anyway, so there are a bunch of us going and we decided it'd be cute to knit beanies in the Giants Orange and Black colors. I invited Rocky to go and he said he'd even knit his own hat :o) hee, hee. I started and finished the hat for him but he knitted everything in between. He did a great job. I'll have to take a pic of the finished product but here is a picture of him knitting on the plane to San Diego over the weekend.

I'm sorry momma :o(

Olivia came home to a turnado of yarn last night, among other stuff, thanks to Patch. Patch stays home in a play pen all day and lately he's been getting lonely and restless :o( Well a few weekends ago he got out and I'm assuming that in the last few days he's been attempting to get out. He DID yesterday and it wasn't a good thing. There is nothing worse than unraveling yarn especially after your crazy dog has been playing with it for who knows how many hours. I think he knew that he was in big trouble because he acted like such a baby last night. I think his mom has forgiven him and we managed to get most of the yarn untwisted. There was no knitting last night since we had to fix his mess.

here is the picture of my bulky hat I finished the night before. I used Rowan Big Wool (027 Best Brown)

2nd Hat in the Round

COMPLETE :o) On Saturday Olivia and I went to the Knit and Crotchet Show in Oakland. It wasn't what I expected and I didn't really find anything I liked but I did get a pattern for a bulky hat in the round. I never actually thought I could knit something in just a few hours. The size 15 needles helped :o) It went by really fast. I think I spent a total of 3 hours on it and I love the way it looks. My next one though will have to have more stitches casted on, it's a bit small but I think it'll fit Rocky. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow.

I started my Kitty Pi (http://wendyknits.net/knit/kittybed.htm) it only took me about 6 times of trying it. Amy tried it, Olivia tried it and for some reason we couldn't get it started. Last night I tried again and IT WORKED. I'm so excited. Of course for me this will be a Doggie Pi since I'm making it for Patch.

First Hat in the Round

I have only been knitting a little over 6 months (I think) so it has only been recently that I've ventured away from making scarves. Olivia and I took a felted vase class last month and that was a lot of fun. We learned to knit on double pointed needles. I was a little lost at first but then I got the hang of it. When we started knitting we had no idea that quite a few of our friends were also knitters. We started a Stitch n Bitch group and meet every other week. The bad thing about this is that now we've seen all the cool things we can make and that it's really not all that hard. Now we've become Knitting Monsters and can't get enough of it. I made my first hat on straight needles and it turned out okay but it had a seam so ever since then I've been wanting to make a hat in the round. I DID!!! I was so excited. I asked a few questions at the knitting store, used one of our books to answer others and looked at the handy dandy instruction pictures. I used size 8 needles and Cascade 220 yarn.

Here is how it turned out:
